knitting and the gothic lolita aesthetic
The other day I finally checked out Purl's custom colors of Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock...said colors being self-striping white + [insert color here]. Holy crap. I immediately thought of how well it would go with gothic lolita stuff. The gothic lolita (or EGL, or whatever) look can be seen here if you haven't heard of it. Fun, fun Japanese fashion. I've always been a fan of it, but when I first heard of it I was already in my early 20s, which...in my opinion, is too old to be dressing like that. Especially looking the way I do. :P I make up for it by making up comic characters that dress that way. Anyway, yeah, once I've forced myself to plow through a good-sized chunk of my stash, I'm definitely getting a bunch of that stuff, if only to make some socks and/or gloves just to have a little bit of oddness in my wardrobe. For the record, I haven't tried knitting socks yet.
